Welcome!

Hi, I am Ayodeji. 👋🏽

I studied Pharmacy at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, completed my MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, International Practice and Policy at University College London and have a PGCert in Research Methods from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), UK. With a long-standing interest in improving the prescription and use of antimicrobials through antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) strategies, I have just recently defended my PhD research focused on the collaborative development and evaluation of theory-informed interventions to enhance AMS in Scottish acute care hospitals. My PhD was conducted within the Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention research group in the School of Health and Life Sciences at GCU.

I am an individual member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and have held various leadership positions in FIP’s Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (FIP ECPG) since 2018, most recently as the FIP ECPG Chairperson of Projects in 2020 during which I led a Project Subcommittee that delivered on key FIP ECPG capacity building activities, which include a redesigned Mentorship Programme and the development of a Career Development Toolkit for early career pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists globally.

I have managed project deliverables and worked on activities to enhance AMS in African countries and across WHO regions globally, through the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) programme and FIP’s AMR Commission, respectively. In recognition of my leadership skills and experiences, I was selected as one of the McKinsey & Company Next Generation Women Leaders 2021, from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In 2022, I was listed alongside twenty women pharmaceutical scientists or pharmacy educators from 14 countries as a FIPWiSE Rising Star in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
